Dave Kannewurf - Athletic Coordinator
About MeDave is originally from St. Louis, MO. He attended Central Methodist University and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Education. Dave ran Cross Country, Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field all four years of high school and college. He competed in the NAIA Championships four years in Cross Country and two years in Outdoor Track & Field. Dave is entering his 40th year in the educational field. Dave was a Head Cross Country/Track and Field Coach at the high school level for 23 years and an Assistant or Head Coach at the college level for four years before moving into Athletic Administration. Dave then spent 10 years at Atlee High School as the Director of Athletics and Student Activities where they won 7 state titles. He received his National Certification in Athletic Administration in March of 2010. Dave, his wife Holly and their Saint Bernard Bella moved to Oahu in 2015 for Dave to become the Athletic Administrator at Le Jardin Academy. During his time at Le Jardin Academy they competed in 5 of their 6 HHSAA Tournament appearances. In three of the five tournaments LJA won 2 state titles and finished second once. Dave retired at the end of the 2018 school year and moved to Maui with Holly and Bella. While retirement was nice, Dave’s passion is working with and helping athletic programs and the student athletes in those programs. Dave is very excited to return to the profession he loves, and is anxious to get his first year, at Kihei Charter School started. Dave will also be working for the MIL, creating and maintaining a new website for the league. Dave loves talking sports especially STL Cardinal baseball and STL Blues Hockey, along with UH sports.
